Detroit Swindle get Boxed Out

Detroit Swindle have announced full details of their debut full-length, Boxed Out.

Also known as Lars Dales & Maarten Smeets, the Amsterdam-born pairing have caused quite a stir in the world of club-centric house since debuting on Dirt Crew Recordings back in 2012. EPs on Saints & Sonnets, Tsuba and Freerange have followed since, alongside the launch of their own label, Heist Recordings. IDirt Crew will release the LP, presenting 13 typically robust cuts. Featuring vocal performances from Mayer Hawthorne and Ghanese-Canadian soul singer Sandra Amarie, the album draws on Detroit Swindle’s love of disco, golden era hip-hop and classic, upfront US house.

Listen to BBC 6 Music’s Aus Music Takeover


BBC 6 Music was taken over by Aus Music on Friday night, with label co-boss Will Saul going back to back with Midland and Dusky.

Music from each of the Aus-affiliated producers was played in the hour-long mix, while The Beatles, Bonobo, Axel Boman, Leon Vynehall and The Orb also featured.

Currently in its 10th year, Aus was set up by Will Saul and Fink with releases coming from Bicep, Joy Orbison, George FitzGerald, Tom Demac and Huxley over the years.

George FitzGerald Announces UK Tour


Fresh off his recent stint in North America, Berlin-based house DJ/producer George FitzGerald has scheduled a handful of appearances across the UK club circuit in the coming months. The dates span from the end of January through the beginning of March, and will find the still-rising artist sporadically hitting cities like Oxford, Bristol, Leeds, Dublin, Glasgow, and Southport, among others. George FitzGerald’s forthcoming tour is said to precede the release of his debut LP, which is scheduled to arrive sometime this year viaDouble Six.
