Watch Rusko’s animated Lift Me Up EP teaser video

Dubstep’s favourite bad boy Rusko has released an animated preview for fans to watch ahead of his ‘Lift Me Up’ EP, out July 2 on Owsla Records.

The video features clips from all three tracks off the EP, set against a pretty cool, animated horror film with stumbling zombies, a haunted forest and a pack of rabid wolves.

Rusko will be playing limited tour dates to support the EP release, including Electric Daisy Carnival in London and Dour Festival in Dour, Belgium.

Earlier this month Owsla announced the newly signed Rusko and sent out a preview the first track ‘Takeoff’.

GoldFFinch to Drop New EP via Dirtybird

Following news of its upcoming 12″ for Saigon, Belgian duo GoldFFinch is set to release the 11th Hour EP, the outfit’s first proper release for San Francisco’s Dirtybird label.Arriving as a digital package on July 1, the two-track 11th Hour sees GoldFFinch venturing into more sensual and textured sounds, while still keeping its UK garage roots in mind. The title track overlaps a London-centric rhythm with muted chords that hint at the arrival of daybreak, while “Sultry Steel” turns a decaying vocal sample and stuttering, reverbed steel drums into a slinky dancefloor production.

LOL Boys offshoot Heartbeat(s) announces debut album, Home Remedies

Kaleidoscopic sounds from Vancouver, courtesy ofHeartbeat(s).

Internet-savvy beat duo LOL Boys are having a (probably indefinite) pause in operations, although it hasn’t stopped band member Jerome LOL churning out a stash of remixes, edits and originals. Fellow LOL Boy Markus Garcia, meanwhile, has decamped to Vancouver and started up a new alias, Heartbeat(s).

Debut album Home Remedies arrives courtesy of Vancouver cassette imprint 1080p, also responsible for releases from M/M and scruffy house producer Bobby Draino. The LP is a real grab-bag, designed to match the eclectic and rough’n’ready feel of the mixtapes he listened to as a teenager: limber deep house, scrambled acid and ghettobass sounds all make an appearance. Dance Mania and Traxx are pinpointed as influences, and 1080p promise “heavy Detroit feelings leaking out of 303 twists.”

Home Remedies is available now on cassette and digital. Closing number ‘(We) Knew All Along’ – a granular techno track with echoes of Terekke and Svengalisghost – is available to stream below, as is a 15-minute album sampler. [via Exclaim]
