The Dirt 114: Curses! + Three Wise

Continuing our artist Dirt series I decided to team up with Cursesthe mysterious Gotham house music ghost who has been haunting the underground lately.  I have somehow managed to catch him live three times in past few months and each time I seem to fall in love a little more. Dark, deep and delectably smooth his mixes are quickly becoming the soundtrack to my New York nights and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us production wise. If you missed out we featured his mix for Marble Music a few days ago and don’t forget to check out his selection of timeless tracks below…

CURSES’ Timeless Tracks To Be Timeless With:

1. Robert Gorl – Mit Dir

I am always surprised this was made in the 80′s. The smooth late night into early morning vibes are epic. Listen to that arpeggio. Listen to his heartbroken pain.
2. The Potion – Dumbwaya

A New York House underground classic. The chopped vocals and rough em up percussion are tech-tribal tittilations.
3. Suicide – Cheree

Suicide will forever be timeless. The assault rifle guns yet smooth sailing ripple vocals always keep a trance in the dance.
4. Ce Ce Peniston – Finally

These pianos will forever bring a dance flooor to sweats, vocals of elevated ecstasy and unforgettable glamour.
5. Robert Owens – Be Your Friend

An instant dark, vivacious, and underground classic. Owens’ vocals bring an unnerving beauty that feels familiar yet ghost like. The stabs dark, yet up-lifting. Like a nightmare has changed it’s course and decided to bring grace and bliss to the club.

Isaac Tichauer – Take Over You

What can I say, I just love Isaac Tichauer. Out earlier today,  ”Take Over You” is the first little taste from his upcoming EP out on French Express. Deep and soulful, it’s delicious, and I can’t wait to hear what he’s going to come out with next!
Phoenix – Trying to be Cool (RAC Mix)

As a huge fan of Phoenix’s recent Bankrupt! album I was stoked to see this in my inbox today. RAC‘s mix is brighter and more summery than the original, substituting Phoenix’s rock vibes for a more groovy approach that will easily be a summer party favorite.

Joy Orbison – Donell

The whole past week I’ve had this latest DL from Joy Orbison on repeat. Gorgeous RnB vocals, poppin’ beat with a little bit of funk. This is definitely a track to get down and dirty to.

Miguel – Do you…(Cashmere Cat Remix)

Do you like drugs? Do you like hugs? Do you like love? Yeah….well me too.

Blond:ish and Climbers feat. Forrest – Back to Back

This one is a bit older, but I’ve found my self listening to it recently as the city starts to warm up for spring. Dark and melodic, chill vibes all around.
