[Review] A-Trak at Brite Nites, Webster Hall NYC

Last Saturday we returned once again to one of our favorite haunts, Webster Hall NYC. But this time it was a bit of a special occasion… aside from 4/20, A-Trak was back in town and Webster was kicking off the start of their new weekly Brite Nites party….and it was an insane night to say the least. Check out what went down after the jump!

Arriving to a jam-packed Webster Hall as “FOOOOOOLLLLSSS GOOOOOOOOOLLD” blared over the speakers, I got to the mezzanine just in time to see the master DJ hit the decks. After a quick hello speech (which I honestly couldn’t even understand because the crowd was so amped up) A-Trak dove into his set spinning a mix of Hip-Hop, Electro, Trap and some funky shit I couldn’t identify but was just hella good. The Clockwork remix of “Perfect Storm” by Pink is Punk & Benny Benassi, “Raw” by Fedde Le Grand expertly mixed into the Jacques Lu Cont remix of “Ich R U,” “Big Bad Wolf” by Duck Sauce (A-Trak and Armand Van Helden’s project), and “Trizzy Turnt Up,”  all made an appearance.

But with A-Trak’s signature style he went through more tracks in a 10 minute period than most DJs do in an hour, perfectly mixing and mashing and controlling the crowd. The intensity and energy continued to rise throughout his 90 minute set until, of course, he ended the night with the brand new Daft Punk “Get Lucky.”

All in all this night was one of the best I’ve ever had at Webster…and if this is what their new Saturday Brite Nites party is gonna be like, you can expect me to be there alot more often. Check out their upcoming shows below and hope to see you there New York!
