Fatboy Slim set to be first ever DJ to play the House Of Commons

Fatboy Slim is set to be the first ever DJ to play the House of Commons.

The DJ will play a set at the terrace bar in the seat of the UK parliament in London on March 6 as part of an event put on by the Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Foundation.

The event is also part of the House The House charitable parliamentary initiative, which is supported by and Hove and Portslade MP Mike Weatherley. A competition winner will also DJ at the event. For more information, visit: Housethehouse.org.

House The House encourages 16 to 25-year-olds to become involved in community projects and raises awareness for community music projects. Of the initiative, MP Weatherley commented:

“House The House is giving young people the chance to have a voice, to be recognised for their endeavours and to engage with their communities to create change from the grassroots up. Last Night A DJ Saved My Life and House The House are great examples of what the whole music industry can achieve in an innovative way.”

Fatboy Slim added: “I’ve played some exciting and unique places around the world from Bondi Beach to The Great Wall of China to Igloo but playing in the House of Commons might be the most unique to date.”

Lucidity Festival Releases 2013 Lineup

Massive Gratitude to Memkast, Devin True, and Music is Love for putting together an epic lineup across three music stages and to Matt Rodriguez for his beautiful design work on these posters. We want to acknowledge that there will be more music and stage environments than are shown on this poster at Lucidity Festival, since our open-source philosophy invites a wide array of participation. This poster, however, represents the official Lucidity-curated content that you can count on! Buy tickets HERE.

Locked Groove to Drop Two-Part EP for Hotflush, Shares First Single

Belgian producer Locked Groove was one of the more obvious choices to make our Best New Artists of 2012 list after he released three solidly impressive EPs throughout last year. Now, the man has unveiled the details of his first 2013 offering, a “two-part” EP forHotflush. Returning to the label which released both the artist’s Keep it Simple and RootedEPs, the forthcoming Heritage collection is said to find Locked Groove persuing a “joining of musical dots between and beyond classic house and techno.” The double-EP, which comes split into two three-track “parts” and clocks in with a runtime over 40 minutes (some might just call that an album), will see an official release on February 25, but before then, you can check out Heritage’s artwork and tracklist—as well as stream a cut from the record—below.

Part 1
A1 Do it Anyway
B1 Wear it Well

B2 Firefall

Part 2
A1 Nighttime at the Garage
A2 Dream Within a Dream
B1 Lost
