Watch Deadmau5 takeover an entire square in London

After last year’s spectacle at Milbank Tower, Deadmau5 returned to London with Nokia, but this time he took over a whole square.

Flat Iron Square in Southwark was the cheese loving DJ’s next venue and to celebrate the release of the new Nokia Lumia range he played an intimate set to a very cold audience.

The whole place was rigged with specially developed software so that it would appear as if the square was being ‘played’ like a musical instrument.

Flying Lotus unveils new video featuring Elijah Wood

After releasing one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year, Flying Lotus has unveiled the music video for the track ‘Tiny Tortures’.

The video features everyone’s favourite hobbit Elijah Wood as a troubled amputee who turns to some odd looking antibiotics for sanctum.

Check out the video below.

Listen to a New Track from Julio Bashmore

After recently unveiling the video for “Husk,” Bristol house maestro Julio Bashmore has shared a stream of its b-side, called “Pelican.” The tune is a fitting counterpart to “Husk” that uses the same punchy house kicks and rounded bass frequencies that cut through the mix and propel the groove. Despite the similarities, there’s something less upbeat about the vibe of “Pelican.” Whereas the flutes in “Husk” helped shed light on the mix, they mystify, complicate, and darken “Pelican.” You can stream the track below before the two-track single drops via Julio Bashmore’s own Broadwalk imprint on December 2. Todd Edwards puts his entire record collection up on Ebay

Faced with the old ‘too many records, too little space’ conundrum, the L.A.-via-New Jersey house/garage figurehead has decided to hawk his entire record collection on eBay. Every record in the substantial collection, collected over the course of 25 years, has been sampled by Edwards at some point in his career.

Edwards explains the rationale for the fire sale on his eBay page: I recently moved from New Jersey to my new home of Los Angeles and I drove a truck across the US with all of my belongings (very Hollywood, right?). Before I left Jersey, my manager asked me what I was going to do with all of my old records and I said I didn’t know, and he asked me to pack them as he’d love to have them.

“A week later, when I finally made it to California and pulled up to my manager’s house, he was drinking a mai tai and said “I changed my mind.” Typical!…I don’t have space in my apartment or in my studio for them, so I’ve decided to put my entire record collection up for sale”.

The set apparently includes everything from freestyle white labels to vintage disco edits to classic Strictly Rhythm house discs. The collection is split over 30 different lots, and will be open for bidding for the next five days. Head here to bid – each lot is currently starting at $10. If you’re concerned you might be depriving a legend of his music collection, fear not: all the material is safely backed up on Edwards’ personal sample bank.

Yesterday, DJ Q bowed down at the shrine of Edwards with a comprehensive tribute mix – head here to listen.
