[REVIEW] Lee Foss & MK feat. Anabel Englund – Electricity EP

In 2011, Hot Creations label boss Jamie Jones was the undisputed king of the rising deep house field, and here at the tail end of 2012, fellow label mate Lee Foss is hot on his heels with a superb Essential Mix and one hell of a fiery EP.

The title track ‘Electricity’ is the clear favorite of the 4-track package, which features the impressive vocal performance of Anabel Englund, who I might’ve fallen slightly in love with after having this song on repeat for the entire weekend. So sexual! ‘Goodnight Moon’ is the second track that features the house guru MK, and has that undeniable roof-top bounce that leaves you begging for Summer’s warm touch again. What really stood out to me on this EP was Lee’s attention to detail on the sound design and synth work throughout, and is found on ‘Could Be’. The closing track ‘B5 The Dinks’ rides a cheeky sample and funky guitar riff that makes you wish you were at a pool party instead of slaving at work. You can pick up the EP at Beatport, which just came out today.
