Avicii Explains Le7els Tour
The unstoppable force that is Grammy-nominated DJ and producer, Avicii, will be kicking off his LE7ELS tour in North America May 17 in Houston, TX. This tour will be the worlds first ever electronic dance music all arena tour and will also showcase production never before seen in the EDM world. Fans were given a preview during Avicii’s performance at Coachella, but we wanted to find out more.
Why only arenas?
AVICII: It was something that we needed to do just because the kind of production we are bringing it won’t fit anywhere else except in an arena.
What can fans expect with all this big production?
AVICII: It’s going to be something completely new, it’s going to be 3D mapping on an organic surface. Its kinda like an IMAX experience, it really feels like a show. There’s nothing like this in the EDM world that’s even remotely close to what we’re doing. I’m really excited.
What kind of planning went into this tour?
AVICII: It’s been in the works for about a year and it’s been building for about six months. There’s been a lot of money and time that’s been put into it and we just finally revealed it, and we gave just a small taste of it at Coachella.
What are some of your favourite places to perform in North America?
AVICII: New York, I just love the crowd there so much. I would also say Las Vegas, it’s just a different vibe there. It’s so unique compared to anywhere else in the world…you can tell that everyone is just letting loose for the weekend.
What else can fans expect from you?
AVICII: There’s always new music coming out, I just released my new single ‘Silhouettes’, then after that I don’t know which track we’ll release. In electronic music release dates always keep changing, I have a lot of tracks and a lot of material, so there’s going to be lot of new stuff coming out.
Man Falls 20 Metres From Stage Scaffolding At Creamfields Sydney
Shocking footage has emerged online overnight of a man falling 20 metres from the main stage scaffolding at the Creamfields festival while Alesso was playing in Sydney yesterday. The video shows the man climb to the very top of the scaffolding before he loses his footing and falls, bouncing off the tower on his way down.
A number of festival-goers took to social media last night to try and find out what happened and if he was OK. The Facebook user who posted the video suggested he jumped back up and gave everyone the thumbs up (see below). So far St John Ambulance are yet to confirm if they treated the man for any injuries sustained as a result of the fall.

Skream producing “UK garage record” for Kelis
If you thought Skrillex and The Doors was the most unlikely collaboration of recent memory, well, you’d probably be right. But in a strong contention for second place, dubstep godfather Skream has revealed that he’s been producing tracks for none other than Milkshake innuendo-er Kelis.
In an interview with The Tuesday Club, Skream stated that he’d produced two tracks for the R&B singer. In another interview, Skream also described one of the tracks, titled Distance as a “UK garage record”. The track was also given the Benga seal of approval, with the fellow trailblazer affirming “It’s a good record”.
The most likely destination for the tracks is Kelis’ forthcoming sixth album, which is due out soon.
Jamies Jones Headlines Paradise at DC-10
The label boss has long been an Ibiza staple, but this Thursday residency marks the first time that the Welsh DJ has been the main attraction at a party throughout the season. It’s also the first time that DC-10 has thrown a regular Thursday party in some years, and interestingly falls on the same day of the week as Space’s Kehakuma event, which Jones played at quite a few times in 2011. The event will run 13 weeks throughout the summer, and the opening night lineup has already been announced. It features Crosstown compatriots Art Department, Benoit & Sergio and Richy Ahmed. Guests throughout the season will include the likes of Maceo Plex, Wolf + Lamb, Ben UFO, Efdemin and Space Dimension Controller.
