Listen To The Tracks + GDD Exclusive after the jump!
After a successful release of the First chapter to RPC in the Fall of 2011, the collaboration between Kyle De Penna (Shifty Rhythms, Mad Decent) and Sean Dwyer (Rudetoon Records) have found the finish to a 6-track story featuring four tracks together and one personal single each, respectively. The EP was pre-released today on BandCamp for a full month (until iTunes, Beatport, Mog, Spotify releases), with an early-bird special. For the first week, the full EP will be available for download for $1, and increase a dollar every week until it hits $5 (which will be the final cost when it gets digital distribution on the previously listed storefronts). Here’s what the LA duo had to say:
“The second installment of our continuous EP series, Red Panda Chronicles, started right after we concluded with the first. Looking at the last EP, we were happy, but we wanted to explore much deeper into the dance territory. So we went to work, individually at first, as both of us went home to our hometowns for Christmas. When we got back together in 2012, the Year of the Dragon, we started grinding hard on what became 6 songs meant for the dance floor. The result was something between European rave music and the American influences that we were raised on, hip-hop included. Although the tracks were not all originally done with the mindset of being on one cohesive EP release, there seemed to be some thematic symmetry between all of them. We’re extremely proud of this next chapter in our careers, and we hope you enjoy this half hour of music as much as we do”
