Skrillex Takes Adele’s Top Spot

Skrillex has knocked Adele from the top of the digital album chart in Australia.

While the UK singer’s all encompassing stranglehold of the charts worldwide started to look unbreakable, young upstart Skrillex has penetrated her domination and taken the number one spot on the ARIA Digital Album chart with his Bangarang EP.

Adele still held on to the top spot in terms of physical copies equalling, er, Dire Straits Aussie record of 34 weeks at the top of the album chart for their ‘Brothers In Arms’ album.

Skrillex is currently down under for the Future Music Festival. For more information click here.

Legendary Cypress Hill Producer DJ Muggs Signs With Ultra Records For ‘Bass For Your Face’ Solo Album

ULTRA RECORDS is home to some of the biggest names in electronic music, representing Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Benny Benassi, Armin van Buuren and the mighty David Guetta amongst others. Now, the label has signed legendary producer DJ MUGGS for his upcoming solo effort, ‘Bass For Your Face’.

“Snap Ya Neck Back” is the lead single from ‘Bass For Your Face’ and sees DJ MUGGS teaming with platinum UK rapper Dizzee Rascal for a mind-bending dub-hop experience. The pair have unleashed a video for the track on Ministry of Sound’s YouTube channel. Check out the madness here:

DJ MUGGS is one of the most respected names in hip hop. Ranging from his work as Cypress Hill’s DJ and producer to creating monster hits for other artists like Ice Cube (“Check Yo Self”) and House of Pain (“Jump Around”) and even collaborating with the likes of former Afghan Whigs, current Twilight Singers main man Greg Dulli, DJ MUGGS has proven himself as one of the best in the game. Now, he has decided to take on an entirely new world, creating the dubstep-heavy ‘Bass For Your Face’ record.

‘Bass For Your Face’ also features appearances from legendary Public Enemy frontman Chuck D, London Grime MC P-Money and many more. The album is expected to be released this summer.

DJ MUGGS was just added to ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL taking place March 23-25 in Miami, FL and featuring performances from Skrillex, Tiesto, Kraftwerk, Justice, Avicii, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Miike Snow, Fat Boy Slim and many more.
