Future Music Festival is going to Asia

By now, we doubt you need to be told just how colossal the bill has got for Future Music Festival. With headliners the Swedish House Mafia fresh from an epic takeover of New York’s Madison Square Garden, acts like SkrillexSven VathChase & Status andJamie Jones coming off stellar 2011s and a heavy-hitting second line-up headed byNew Order and Knife Party, March 2012 is going to be big.

With Australia all tied up, Future Music Festival is now turning its sights to Asia. “With Asia on our doorstep and the wealth of talent we now tour from one side of the globe to the other it makes perfect sense for the artist to do as much as possible whilst in this region,” says Future’s Brett Robinson in a statement. “We have had interest for several years now in launching Future Music Festival in Asia but wanted to wait for the right opportunity to present itself, which we have now found.”

Stay tuned for the line-up, date and venue in coming weeks – this could be a good excuse for a holiday!

Skream: Haters Are Just “Keyboard Warriors”

In a refreshingly honest interview, Skream shares his opinion on the dubstep haters, or as he calls them, the “keyboard warriors”.

He says, “It’s so easy to fall into that forum shit. I’ve been bad for it sometimes, you know there is stuff being said, you can’t help but look.

“These cunts are sitting there, behind their laptop – keyboard warriors!”

Naturally, conversation turns to America and Skrillex. But Skream remains positive, “We get a lot of love from people like Skrillex. He’s doing amazing at the minute, he’s a phenomenon, really, when you look at it – he’s only been about for a year and he’s like the fourth most popular dance act in the world. He’s up for five Grammys. He must be doing something right, you know what I mean?”

He continues, “What are we gonna do, form a united front against Skrillex? Honestly, it’s pathetic. I think it’s ridiculous. Either listen to it or don’t listen to it. There’s still nights playing the stuff those people want to hear. It’s just bitchiness, it really is.

“I think it hurts a lot of people over here because it’s a UK sound.”
