“G Like Me,” a collaboration between UK DJ/Producer Sinden and Huntsville duo G-Side, is a medium-dark, rolling lesson in Social Darwinism. It’s an eat or be eaten world, whether you like it or not. ST 2 Lettaz explains: I don’t wanna bust, but I will. Brenmar’s a pro at plucking vocal phrases and making them theses (see: “Let’s Pretend,” his excellent distillation of Chris Brown’s “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)”). Here he zones in on Kill or be killed, revving up the phrase until it serves him better, sounding more like Kill the beat. Derek Allen, Herve and Mele also toyed with the single. Listen to their takes here. G-Side’s newest album, iSLAND, is out this Friday via Slow Motion Soundz. Pre-order it from G-Side’s Bandcamp now and be the first to download album cut “Look Up.”
