The Dirt #45: Toks + sneevs

Hi Dirt bros + babes.  We’ll get right to it but I’d just like to say that I’m super stoked to be Dirt 45ing with TOKS THE INTERN HIMSELF.

GET INTO IT.

• Toks’ zip (6 tracks)

• sneevs’ zip (6 tracks)

Previews, commentary + bonus track after the jump…

Toks:

• Todd Terry, Gypsymen – Babarabatiri (Copyright Remix) [Beatport]

Copyright brings new life to a track that was originally released in 2001. Take an imaginary trip to the island of Ibiza and let these tropical, percussive grooves heat up your night.

• Nicky Romero – Camorra (Original Mix) [Beatport]

One of my favorite releases of late, Nicky Romero goes deeper with a techy sound.

• The Magician Feat. Jeppe – I Don’t Know What To Do (Plastic Plates Remix)

Supported by several of the leaders in nu-disco, this one is an excellent, funky tune. You know exactly what to do.

• Jakwob – Right Beside You (Etherwood Bootleg)

Etherwood produced a gem of liquid drum and bass that should fit perfectly in your repertoire of music for relaxation.

• SuperVision – Arcane

SuperVision is the latest addition to the Pretty Lights music crew. His first effort has the standard Colorado mid-tempo vibes with a great balance of glitch and melodic guitar sounds. Seems like he will be a very promising producer in the near future.

• Jantsen – Let’s Get Ill

Jantsen uses a formula that is similar to the old Rusko sound and he uses it well with a catchy hook and quality production. This one is for the low end lovers.

sneevs:

• Madonna – Bedtime Stories (Danny Daze Dark Rooms Mix)

Drawing the listener into a deep, languorous dreamland, Danny Daze effectively creates auditory LA Confidential with this one…. just the best.

• Sound of Stereo – Diamonds (Broken Circuits Remix)

You’ll recall It Gets You Off’s Broken Circuits from a few of my lasts posts, these guys had our room at Avalon PUMPING a few weeks ago with their live set.  Crunchy electro tech to keep your ears on in months to come.

• Catz ‘n Dogz – Relaxation is a Skill

“Inhale, 2, 3, 4. Hold, 2, 3, 4.  Exhale.”

•Kromo and Kumar – Zanzibars (Instrumental Mix)

More from NYC’s It Gets You Off.  A mellow haunt for Booka Shade and deeper tech lovers.

• Holy Ghost! – I Will Come Back (Classixx Acapulco Nights Version)

This remix made its way back into my constant rotation recently and my life is better because of it.  Classixx never cease to amaze me with their elegant refinement of tone.  Pure, unadulterated luxury.

BONUS:

• Catz ‘n Dogz – One More

Hadn’t heard this little gem until I dug back in their SoundCloud.  Gets really fresh at 3:30, you guys.

All our best,

Toks + sneevs

I dunno man, that Broken Circuits remix sounds too much like the AutoErotique remix of Diplo & Laidback Luke – Hey. One instrument is a direct port almost certainly. Maybe give it another listen. Still would loved to have seen them in the legit lounge!
