GDD™ 2010 Roundup: Part IV

Happy New Year everybody! We hope that you all had an excellent time last night and got to make out with a smokin’ babe/dude at midnight. 2010 has been one of the best years of our lives, and everyone at GDD™ truly appreciates all of the love and support we have received from you great people for the past 365 days. As you have probably noticed, we have split up the best of 2010 between the entire GDD™ family in hopes of reaching as many good tracks from as many sub-genres of electronic music as possible. Today we are featuring the best of the best from the broad HOUSE MUSIC genre, with a specific focus on Electro and Big Room. ///BONES, KMOC, and jonahberry have put together some lists of what we loved this year, whilst being on top of a snowy mountain in Mammoth Lakes, CA. We hope you enjoy these picks, and please note that the lists are in no specific order. the subfocus and tocadisco songs were released before 2010.

  2. Anonymous says:

    so was we love animals

  3. zokuaku says:

Oi Pacha on Acid was good but I liked Amanda a lot more. Also, Animal Rights I thought was a good collab too. Wolfgang Gartner killed this year I'm so excited for his album in '11!

Amanda sounds like a bunch of whale noises, Pacha on Acid is Afrojack's best tune since the Moombah remix. but I agree that Animal Rights was one of 2010's better collabs, I still hate Deadmau5 but his heavy bass contributes nicely to Wolfgang's glitchyness

  5. Ryan Fontana says:

I can't believe you forgot Porter Robinson in "names to watch in 2011". For shame, for shame…

@ryan or Djedjotronic…anywhere in the post

  7. Justin Perea says:

How is mau5trap not a top label?
Everytime a track is released on that label it hits the top 10 on beatport.

  8. dirt mcgirt says:

justin every time t-pain sneezes it goes platinum that doesn't mean it sounds good.

  9. Justin Perea says:

    @dirt mcgirt
Yeah but deadmau5's label actually has good releases

  10. BONES says:

mau5trap was pretty much covered with skrillex in the dubstep wrap up post last week. anything else was not to our favoring.

porter will be added to artists to look for next year, and djedjotronic had been acclaimed in the more recent techno/techno/techno wrap up.

oh and 'We Love Animals' official release in part to the the crooks album was earlier this year, so were still in the clear 😉

    thanks for getting excited though!

+10 points for Rocking the Set and Sex Sax, easily two of the best of 2010 that were NOT played out to death in every set (like Brap/One/Babylon). great recap! here's to an even dirtier 2011

Pretty awesome that I got to see 3 of the top 5 performances of 2010 and partied at 4 of the 5 said venues. Guess Ultra is next on my list then!

  13. BONES says:

    to those last 2 anons:

    – I'm glad you think so about those 2 tracks, those both were my 2 favorite tracks of the year (along w/ Calypso) hands down.

    – Ultra Music Festival should definitely be in your planning for the end of march! The whole week.
