Our good friend Tim Nelson, aka BetatraXx, aka the artist formerly known as Redlight, aka Mr. Shit your pants, sweat through your shirt, and dance, has graced us with his 2 newest productions and jeeeeeezuz christ they are amazing. Mafiosa is perfectly titled, and can be described as a Justice and Wolfgang Gartner lovechild with a little Glitch mob sprinkled on top. Harmonious and heavy with a taste of glitch hop. But this song is DEFinitely pure BetaTraxx in all its prime-time glory. Look for this song to sweep through the festivals, make your eyes wobble, and hearts explode. It is a little tired. It's really well executed though and Tim's gotten nothing but better since I started listening to him. He's only recently gotten good at imitating this sound and the dutch house sound but I think he's definitely someone to watch
Can you show me one dutch house song or 2007 electro track that has a harmonic progression like that break down though?? Definitely not. I think this track is extremely unique
Does anyone know if this Redlight is the same as the Dj Redlight who used to make sick ass electro video game mixes on Overclocked Remix It sort of sounds like his style still.
Also Mafioso uses the same sample that Justice uses on Valentine, The Party and DVNO.
