Worth The Squeeze

I first heard this on Erol Alkan‘s BBC 6 music show, back in London last Sunday and couldn’t figure out whose remix it was – cheers to Erol’s Phantasy Sound blog for putting this out and ending my torment. West Londoner Justin Robertson has just dropped a more laid back edit of heavy hitting electro anthem ‘Lemonade’. Robertson, who’s a bit of a jack of all trades, describes his Deadstock 33 project as psych-house; this remix sees an appearance of DFA-esque drum patterns and a tidier 90’s bassline. While nothing is ever going to match the original in all it’s glory, this a pretty valiant effort and definitely worth some airplay.
