Hugo’s Boss

photo cred:

From Lyon, France via Buenos Aires, Argentina, Hugo Dousters kicking up a storm at the moment. We’ve posted a couple of his tracks already this week, but I figured I’d write a post bigging up the man himself. Douster gets his tribal and dancehall sound from cumbia villera, which is music from the shantytowns of Buenos Aires, and fuses it with catchy fidget and electro. A couple of us were lucky enough to hear him headlining a Mad Decent party with Diplo a few weeks ago at a pub in LA, where he brought the house down with one of the best sets I’ve seen in a year.

Check out the latest Douster remix which dropped last week on Rusko‘s Woo Boost EP:

Rusko – Woo Boost (Douster Remix)

Riva Starr – I Was Drunk (Douster Remix)

gypsy fidget with a beautiful ending

Yolanda Be Cool – Afro Nuts (Douster Remix)

whistles + bongos. ’nuff said
