Los Angeles, ITS ABOUT THAT TIME! The Goblins, Ghouls, Ghosts N Stuff are getting hard for HARD Haunted Mansion set to blow the doors off the Shrine Auditorium (thank god) once again. I had so many tracks I wanted to add in this mix, and why not make a solid hour of eerie electro to monster mash your ears while you suit up into your dirty ass costumes while you wait for the come up. The mix is shows a good time span of what each night will entail, starting with some grindage to get pumped up for and then moving into the night with funky sounds of the halfway point, and then coming full circle with the wee hours of then night held down by the progressive and the power that will come past 2am. You’ll know who I’m talking about. Los Angeles, this is your Halloween Maniac/Jack-O-Lantern/Hypnosis Power-hour (yes an hour) of one of the best new festivals in the world. Let’s get weird. The Midnight hour is Close at hand. WOW. I am HARD for HARD Halloween. How ’bout you? HOOOOWWWWWWWLLLLLL!

  1. K.M.O.C. says:

Oh shit, the Friday HARD stage set times are epic!

  2. Whitebuddha says:

so crookers till 12:30 then over to justice or what

  3. DeezNasty says:

im personally way more stoked on basement jaxx than crookers…if u get the chance check out shinichi osawa hes nutty

  4. Anonymous says:

anytime there's a special guest on the same night as Justice, I just assume it's gonna be Busy P since he travels with them most of the time.

  5. Afflicted Wolf says:

Special Guest: Thomas Bangalter. Dressed up in Daft Punk outfit..just like AM last year..this time the outfit at hard isn't a tribute to Thomas but to DJ AM!

my best educated guess. & probably way out there

  6. Afflicted Wolf says:

I highly recommend anyone check out DANGER. It's not too often that opportunity is present. Shincihi Osawa KILLED it at EDC! So don't miss him. The rest of the lineups seem pretty obvious.

  7. troy! says:

busy p is in miami saturday night

  8. Anonymous says:

See Harvard Bass if you know whats good for you.

  9. Peter says:

Thoughts on Hot Chip as the special guest Saturday night? They're playing at Avalon on Friday, so might still be in town…

  10. DeezNasty says:

maybe it could be drop the lime…they are also at the avalon. GDD is doing an event at the avalon so hopefully jonah will know the deez while hes working there and can let one of us retards know that is at hard

  11. Anonymous says:

diplo or switch dj set for friday, or could be kavinsky/sebastian…

  12. NEWM!E* says:

    thinkin/prayin hotchip as well

  13. Anonymous says:

Hmmm..maybe someone we dint fully c at hard summer..Jack beats…tiga…chromeo? Or maybe rusko ..12th planet

  14. troy! says:

im playing with 12th planet in miami on saturday

  15. Peter says:

Diplo is playing in SF on Friday night @ The Cow Palace…

I could see Drop The Lime as a possibility (Hot Chip sets seem too downtempo for that timeslot). Keep us in the loop Jonah :)

  16. jonahberry says:

    you got it dudes.

  17. Rob City says:

    Warp Fu. Mad Diggin.

  18. Anonymous says:

I'm gonna guess Kid Cudi as special guest on Saturday, even though it doesnt seem like he fits there it would be sick!

BTW what's that 2manydj's song mixed in "WARP FU"?

  19. Anonymous says:

actually, he doesn't fit on the Hard stage line-up, but it would make sense after Crookers, right??

  20. DeezNasty says:

warp FU is the song that we have available for download…click the blue link. Its BONES remix of 2manyDJs and Bloody beetroots

  21. Anonymous says:

yea i know, I'm trying to figure out which 2manydj's song was used in the remix, if anyone knows?

  22. Peter says:

    Hand to phone?

  23. BONES says:

The song used 'Samantha Fu – Theme From Discotheque'. (Samantha Fu is the name of Soulwax/2manyDjs side project)

  24. Rob says:

i would put money on drop the lime being one of the special guests for saturday

  25. Anonymous says:

AAAHH!!! So pissed. All my friends opted to go to Monster instead. I was really looking forward to this but don't know anyone going now. I had to sell my ticket to get a Monster one. People need to recognize the artists at HARD events are superior.

  26. DJ1 says:

LOVE IT! So much so I've nominated it WEEKEND MIX on http://www.1200Dreams.com!! You guys rock. Love the blog and the mixes. onna go listen to more now….

  27. Peter says:

Anyone have any leads? Did we hear anything from DTL? Someone just tweeted Deadmau5 was the special guest, which has gotta be bullshit.

  28. DeezNasty says:

ok let me lay some truth about hard last night:

    1. bloody beetroots had an incredible set
    2. 2manydjs had an incredible set
    3. deadmau5 had the worst set ive ever seen him play, and ive seen about a total of 7.

hard was organized very very well this year, the lines moved quickly, bathrooms were easy to get to, and it wasn't too crowded.

oh, and joel zimmerman is kinda a dick, i watched a few fans ask for pictures and the guy thought he was wayy too cool.

  29. jack_hale says:

We got there when danger was playing, he killed it

Bloody Beetroots was epic, my friend and i dressed up as them and were on the front gate for their set, at one point one went and jumped onto the audience and we touched himm, so that was pretty cool

The Soulwax set started off kind of flat in my opinion, but their remix of Phantom Pt II never ceases to destroy the crowd, and from there it was sick

Deadmau5 was a bit of a disappointment as many people had waited the whole night to see him and he didnt really deliver when we were still there, we ended up leaving after about 3 songs

But an absolutely amazing night overall

  30. CIGARICK says:

  31. matt says:

whats wrong with the mau5 lately? i left deadmau5 after about twenty or thirty minutes at i love techno because i was straight up bored and fake blood's set was starting. glad to hear everyone actually got to hear a little more than ten minutes of crystal castles this time around tho.

  32. Peter says:

It was unbelievable how downtempo/boring Deadmau5 was Saturday night.

In stark contrast to his LoveFest Afterparty set…which was a stream of face melting mau5 bangers, one after the other. The tracklist was so high energy: FML>Reward is MORE Cheese>Harder Better Faster Stronger>You Need a Ladder>Moar Ghosts n Whatever>Catbread>Hi Friend! .. Seriously could not have been better.

Needless to say, his Hard set sucked balls in comparison. Hardly even recognized a song.

It appears that all of his sets (someone mentioned ILT) since his "For Lack of a Better Tour" started last week have been shitty. I already have tickets for his NYC show on 11/25, and really hope he gets his shit together.

    Also- 2manydjs and Modeselektor killed.

  33. Dave says:

I'm loving the new Deadmau5 album. A big departure from his last effort, but still excellent. Just saw them at HARDfest, and my high expectations were more than met.
